  • Snoring arises when the air passage is blocked, thereby inhibiting easy and normal breathing during sleep.


  • Breathing through the mouth (as a result of a nasal blockage) can cause snoring. The tongue is pushed back when the mouth is open, and makes the uvula to press against the throat.


  • The sound of snoring varies with the degree of obstruction.
