- Snoring arises when the air passage is blocked, thereby inhibiting easy and normal breathing during sleep.
- Muscles in the airway are kept open when you are awake, but sag inwards during sleep. Snoring results from the muscles relaxing too much and blocking the throat.
- The sound of snoring varies with the degree of obstruction.
