I had a severe case of snoring.
In my youth it plagued me - going out on trips with friends I would keep them up all night by snoring.

- Snoring develops in situations where the air passage is blocked, thereby inhibiting normal breathing while sleeping.
- The decibel rating of snoring is directly related to the amount the muscles relax.
- Muscles in the airway are kept open when you are awake, but sag inwards during sleep. Snoring occurs when these muscles collapse (i.e. become too lax), creating a blockage at the airway.
- A nasal blockage causes one to breathe through the mouth which can lead to snoring. In an open-mouth position the tongue is pushed back causing the uvula to press against the back of the throat.
