I snored severely.
When I was young, trips with friends would be terrible as my snoring would keep them up all night.

- Snoring arises when the air passage is blocked, thereby inhibiting easy and normal breathing during sleep.
- Snoring is noisier the more the airway is blocked.
- Snoring can be the result of a nasal blockage, when the mouth has to be used to inhale. When the mouth is open, the tongue gets pushed back and makes the uvula to push against the back of the throat.
- The muscles in the throat are kept open while a person is awake, but when they are asleep they relax and close up. When they relax more than necessary the airway can become blocked and snoring will result.
