I had a chronic case of snoring.
In my youth it was a problem going on trips with friends - my snoring would keep them awake all night.

Snoring Facts
- Snoring takes place when the air passage is impeded, therefore inhibiting simple and normal breathing during sleep.
- Snoring becomes louder as the muscles relax more.
- Nasal blockages can cause snoring because the person has to breathe through their mouth. The uvula can block the back of the throat if the tongue pushes it back when the mouth is open.
- Throat muscles stay wide open when the body is awake, but at the onset of sleep they relax inwards. Snoring occurs when these muscles collapse (i.e. become too lax), creating a blockage at the airway.
- There are many reasons why the throat can become blocked by muscles that swell or relax too much, including: alcohol, smoking, sleeping pills, blocked nose, sinusitis, enlarged tonsils, allergies to dust, mold, wheat or eggs, cough mixture containing dextromethorphan and excess body weight.
