Why do I get acid indigestion?
Acid indigestion and heartburn can be caused by an assortment of things. These include: A damaged lower esophageal sphincter, an over acidic stomach, eating a large meal, H. pylori bacterium or digestive problems.
People usually suffer from acid indigestion because they have a damaged lower esophageal sphincter and esophagus. Sometimes this acid indigestion damage is minimal and other times it is quite severe. However it can be fixed very easily!
People suffer from acid indigestion and heartburn when the fumes from stomach acid touches wounds on the esophagus. When acid fumes or acid come in contact with the lesions in your esophagus they will cause pain - a sense of burning in the chest region. It's the same feeling as getting acid on a cut.
Pain can be felt if you drink tomato or orange juice and the acid in the juice comes into contact with grazes on the esophagus. People that don’t have pain don't get acid indigestion or heartburn because their digestive system is working properly.
Can I Correct It?

Acid Indigestion
Acid Indigestion (also referred to as sour stomach or upset stomach), is a description of abdominal pain - usually related to food consumption.
Acid indigestion symptoms are:
- burping
- abdominal fullness
- heartburn
Heartburn is a result of acid indigestion, and commonly comes with a sour stomach. Heartburn is the sensation of your chest burning. It can last for up to two hours and it is normally inflamed by bending over, eating certain kinds of food (citrus juice, spicy sauces, etc), or lying down.
