Why do I get heartburn?
Heartburn and acid reflux can originate from a range of different things. Some of these can be: H. pylori bacterium, an over acidic stomach, eating a large meal, digestive problems or a damaged lower esophageal sphincter.
The majority of people experience heartburn because they have damaged their (LES) lower esophageal sphincter and esophagus. The heartburn hurt can be tiny, or it can be huge. However it can be fixed very easily!
When stomach acid vapors touches lesions on the esophagus heartburn and acid reflux is experienced. When acid fumes or acid come in contact with the lesions in your esophagus they will cause pain - a feeling like your chest is being scalded from the inside. It feels similar to getting acidic vinegar in an open wound.
Pain can be felt if you drink tomato or orange juice and the acid in the juice comes into contact with grazes on the esophagus. Evidently, if drinking acidic juice doesn't cause someone pain they probably never get heartburn or acid reflux because their digestive system is working properly.
Can I Correct It?

What is Heartburn?
Heartburn is a pain behind the breast bone, and is described just like it's name - a feeling that your heart is burning. It can sometimes be felt closer to the back of the body than the front. The pain of heartburn is felt by nearly everyone at some point. Heartburn is actually a digestive problem - not a heart condition. Generally, heartburn is related to meals and posture, and can often be fixed using indigestion treatments.
What Causes Heartburn?
Acid is present in the stomach to digest food. Heartburn takes place if minute quantities of acid rise up into the gullet (esophagus) - this ascension is called reflux.
The esophagus doesn't have a protective lining like the stomach, so it can be left with painful lesions if it is touched by the stomach acid. More Causes of Heartburn
