Why do I get heartburn?

Heartburn and acid reflux can be caused by an assortment of things. Some are: Eating a large meal, H. pylori bacterium, digestive problems, an over acidic stomach or a damaged lower esophageal sphincter.

A damaged LES (lower esophageal sphincter) and esophagus is the most common reason for heartburn. The harm caused by heartburn varies - sometimes it is very slight, other times it can be quite major. However it is simple to eliminate!

Heartburn and acid reflux occurs when vapors from the stomach acid makes contact with the sores on the esophagus. This will be sore - a feeling like your chest is being scalded from the inside. It feels similar to getting acidic vinegar in an open wound.

Pain can be felt if you drink tomato or orange juice and the acid in the juice comes into contact with grazes on the esophagus. People who don't feel this pain don't get heartburn or acid reflux because their digestive system is working properly.

Can I Correct It?

Yes! Around 90% of the people who have tried my treatment have never suffered from heartburn again. They are living their life pain-free, without anxiety, belching and embarrassment. You could be one of them!

I studied for several years - trying to figure out what was going on inside my body. In the end I discovered the source of heartburn, and gastroesophageal reflux disease.

What is Heartburn?

heartburn diagram Heartburn is a pain in the cheat (behind the breast bone), and feels like a ‘burning’ sensation. Although normally located at the front of the chest, it can sometimes be felt deeper towards the back. At one time or another, nearly everyone suffers from heartburn. Although the name may lead you to believe heartburn is a heart condition, it is really a digestive problem. Heartburn is generally related to meals and posture and can often be relieved by remedies for indigestion.

What Causes Heartburn?

Food is digested by acid in the stomach. Heartburn happens when small amounts of acid ascend into the esophagus - this is called reflux.

The stomach has a protective lining but the esophagus doesn't, so it can be left with painful lesions if it is touched by the stomach acid. More Causes of Heartburn
