Why do I get heartburn?
You can obtain heartburn and acid reflux in various ways. Some of these can be: Digestive problems, an over acidic stomach, eating a large meal, H. pylori bacterium, or a damaged lower esophageal sphincter.
Heartburn is most commonly caused by a damaged lower esophageal sphincter and esophagus. Injury from heartburn can vary from being minor to being extensive. However it can be fixed very easily!
Heartburn and acid reflux occurs when vapors from the stomach acid makes contact with the sores on the esophagus. This will result in pain - like a feeling of scalding in the chest area. Ever get any acidic vinegar on a cut? Hurts doesn’t it?
Drinking orange or tomato juice can be a painful experience for someone with esophagus lesions, as the acid in the juice will burn their throat. People that don’t have pain don't get heartburn or acid reflux because their digestive system has no problems.

What is Heartburn?
Heartburn is a chest pain (behind the breast bone), best described like an ongoing scalding feeling. Pain can also be felt in the same region but toward the person's back. The pain of heartburn is felt by nearly everyone at some point. Heartburn has nothing to do with the heart - it is a digestive problem. As heartburn is often the result of meals or posture, common indigestion treatments will often solve it.
What Causes Heartburn?
Acid is present in the stomach to digest food. Heartburn takes place if minute quantities of acid rise up into the gullet (esophagus) - the passage that carries masticated food from the mouth to the stomach. This event is called reflux.
