Why do I get heartburn?

Heartburn and acid reflux can be the result of a variety of things. Some of these can be: Digestive problems, a damaged lower esophageal sphincter, an over acidic stomach, eating a large meal or H. pylori bacterium.

Heartburn is experienced by most people as a result of having a damaged lower esophageal sphincter and esophagus. heartburn damage is sometimes nominal, but it is sometimes extreme. However it can be eliminated easily!

People suffer from heartburn and acid reflux when the fumes from stomach acid touches wounds on the esophagus. This can cause a lot of pain - a feeling like your chest is being scalded from the inside. It feels similar to getting acidic vinegar in an open wound.

If someone is experiencing pain when they drink acidic juice (like orange or tomato) they probably have a damaged esophagus. Clearly, if someone doesn't get that pain they won't suffer from heartburn or acid reflux because their digestive organs are in good working order.

Can I Correct It?

Certainly! Complete relief from heartburn has been found by 90% of the people who have read my publication. They are now loving a life that is no longer weighed down by pain, anxiety and embarrassing belching. You can be one of them!

I spent years trying to figure out what was happening inside my body. Eventually I understood what caused heartburn, and gastroesophageal reflux disease.

What is Heartburn?

heartburn diagram Heartburn is a pain felt underneath the breast bone, and is commonly described as a ‘burning’ sensation. It can also be felt in line with the heart but closer to the person's back. Heartburn is experienced by most people sometime in their life. Although the name heartburn leads us to believe it is a heart-based problem, it is really a problem with the digestive system. Indigestion remedies will often cure heartburn, because it is usually associated with meals and posture.

What Causes Heartburn?

Food is digested by acid in the stomach. You get heartburn when tiny amounts of stomach acid ascend into the gullet (esophagus) - this is called reflux.

The esophagus is very sensitive - it doesn't have a protective lining like the stomach - so when it is exposed to the acid it can become inflamed and painful. More Causes of Heartburn
