Why do I get acid reflux?
Acid reflux and heartburn can have several origins. Some of these include: Eating a large meal, an over-acidic stomach, H. pylori bacterium, a damaged lower esophageal sphincter or digestive problems.
A damaged LES (lower esophageal sphincter) and esophagus is the main reason people suffer from acid reflux. Sometimes this acid reflux damage is minimal and other times it is quite severe. However it can be fixed very easily! And without the need of a special acid reflux medicine
People get acid reflux and heartburn when stomach acid vapor and esophagus lesions come into contact. This contact will create pain - like the sensation that the chest is being burnt from inside. It's best compared to getting acidic vinegar on an open cut.

What is Acid Reflux?
Acid Reflux is called Gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD. Acid reflux (GERD) is the condition where stomach acid is regurgitated into the esophagus. Acid reflux is often confused with intermittent heartburn because heartburn is the biggest indicator of GERD. Normal heartburn is much more infrequent that the acid reflux disease symptom of heartburn, which usually happens two or more days a week for at least three months, and can badly injure your esophagus.
Acid reflux disease is when the stomach acid comes into contact with the esophagus often enough to damage the esophagus and/or have consequences on you day-to-day living. Positioned at the top of your stomach is a muscle called the lower esophageal sphincter, or the LES, which permits food to enter by opening and closing. In addition, it shelters the esophagus by preventing stomach acid from refluxing. With GERD, the LES opens at inappropriate times, exposing the esophagus to stomach acid.
GERD can result in critical medical conditions that call for hospitalization and perhaps surgery. Some people who suffer from acid reflux disease can get stomach acid in their lungs and start wheezing or coughing. Regurgitation of acid into the throat can create a sore throat.
