Why do I get acid reflux?

Acid reflux and heartburn can have different causes. Some are: H. pylori bacterium, an over acidic stomach, eating a large meal, digestive problems or a damaged lower esophageal sphincter.

Acid reflux is most commonly caused by a damaged lower esophageal sphincter and esophagus. Sometimes this damage from acid reflux is negligible and other times it is very bad. However it is simple to eliminate!

People suffer from acid reflux and heartburn when the fumes from stomach acid touches wounds on the esophagus. When they come into contact it will cause pain - like a feeling of scalding in the chest area. It feels similar to getting acidic vinegar in an open wound.

If someone is experiencing pain when they drink acidic juice (like orange or tomato) they probably have a damaged esophagus. People that don't suffer this pain clearly never get acid reflux or heartburn because their digestive organs are working effectively.

Can I Correct It?

Yes! Around 90% of the people who have tried my treatment have never suffered from acid reflux again. They are making the most of their life, that is no longer hampered by pain, anxiety, burping and embarrassment. You could too!

I researched for years to get my head around what was causing me so much pain and embarrassment. At last I realized the reason for acid reflux, and gastroesophageal reflux disease.

What is Acid Reflux?

Acid Reflux - heartburn diagram GERD is the most common name for Acid Reflux. It is the acronym of the medical term Gastroesophageal reflux disease. Acid reflux (GERD) is the regurgitation (back up, or refluxed) of stomach acid into the esophagus. Acid reflux is often confused with intermittent heartburn because heartburn is its most common symptom! But unlike occasional heartburn, the heartburn symptoms of acid reflux disease usually occur 2 or more days a week for at least 3 months and can damage your esophagus.

Acid reflux disease is when the acid rises into the esophagus repeatedly enough to damage the esophagus and/or control your daily life. Situated at the crown of the stomach is a muscle called the lower esophageal sphincter, or the LES, which ordinarily opens and closes to let food in. Also, it shields the esophagus by blocking stomach acid from it. With GERD, the LES opens at inappropriate times, allowing acid from the stomach to get into the esophagus, where it doesn't belong.

GERD can result in critical medical conditions that require hospitalization and even surgery. Some suffers of GERD can find they develop a wheeze or cough because stomach acid gets into their lungs. A sore throat in acid reflux suffers is the result of acid burning the throat. If stomach acid enters the mouth it can eat away at tooth enamel.. More on Acid Reflux
